If your dog keeps scratching his ear, check for  yeast infection.  Yeast infection is the most common ear problem in dogs.Symptoms of yeast infection include itchy, irritated skin.
Mild condition can be treated with ear cleaners or cream, serious infected required to consult veterinarian.Yeast infections respond well to a topical cream.

Alopecia(hair loss)
 Alopecia is a scientific term describing  the condition of complete or partial hair loss in any area .It is a common disorder in dog.
Alopecia can result in a bald spot or leaving behind an abnormally thin coat..
Dog hair loss is caused by various skin problems such as ringworm, hot spots, allergies, parasites or scabies.
All these skin problems will make your dog itch and keep scratching and chewing which in term cause hair loss.


Dry, Flaky Skin (dog dandruff)
Flaky, dry skin in dogs is relatively common, it is usually associated with the dry indoor heat . It is also a common symptoms of allergies.

Some home remedies:
Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is an antiseptic that can clean allergies off the dog coat, it can be applied daily by either spraying or brushing it on the coat.

Olive oil
Olive oil can be rubbed into the skin by hand for a faster result.

Dog Food
To have a healthy skin in dogs, the diet shall include essential vitamins and mineral. Switch his dog food if a particular type seems to cause flaky skin.

Oatmeal Shampoo
Bath your dog with oatmeal based shampoo formulated especially for dogs as oatmeal shampoo is ideal to help relive dry and scaling skin for your dog.

If you have tried some home remedies and  still seems no improvement for his dry skin, bring to the vet as his  condition could be a sign of something more serve such as manage, fungal infection or yeast infection.
